‘Dedication to education’ – Education empowers students’ futures and enlarges the horizons of their minds. It energizes a society with respect. The acquisition of knowledge and skills, and building character and employability of young talent are the prime roles of the teacher. Thus, teaching is not just transmitting knowledge, it is more significantly, forming and transforming young minds and in this aspect, I am blessed and proud to work as the Principal of HCIAHS.
The institution was established in the year 2020 and since 2024 I have been an integral part in its development and sustenance. Under the apt guidance of the management and the dedicated work of the faculty, HCIAHS has become one of the most sought out institutes because we believe in delivering quality medical education at the undergraduate level in the state. The college facilitates AHS courses, consisting of various departments such as Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Medical Imaging Technology and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology. All our courses are recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
I would like to make a special mention that our college is the first in Karnataka to have started the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy course with the affiliation of RGUHS.
As the head of the institution, my aspiration is to work for the success of students and the institution. Our institute accommodates excellent teaching faculty, infrastructure, staff support systems and provides a prime teaching and learning environment for the all-round progress of our students. Our college cares for the individual development of each and every student. We focus on the progressive growth and quality in all academic activities with dedication and zest to meet the expectations of the students, parents, and society as a whole. The bona fide concern of our institution is to ensure the students’ professional growth along with intellectual excellence.

Occupational therapy is the branch of science that deals with curing and rehabilitating the physically, emotionally and mentally disabled and challenged people. It focuses on adapting the environment according to the patient, and teaching and educating them in the necessary skills needed in performing daily activities.
BOT trains students to become skilled professional occupational therapists, capable of undertaking independent/supervised practice. There are several opportunities after pursuing a Bachelor of Occupational. The candidates after completion of the course are hired in Rehabilitation Centers, Multi-Specialty Hospitals, Private Practice/Private clinics, Mental Hospitals, Geriatric homes/ Old age Homes, and many more, as Occupational therapists, Occupational Therapy Nurses, etc. there are many opportunities for occupational therapists outside India as well. OTs can go for any medical facilities or sports franchise.
Two year Pre University examination/10+2 or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects of study.

The vocational higher secondary education courses conducted by Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Govt. of Kerala with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in addition to vocational subjects conducted is considered equivalent to plus TWO examinations of GOK- Pre University Course.

Lateral entry to second year for allied health science courses for candidates who have passed diploma program from the Govt. Boards and recognized by RGUHS.
In case of admission on the basis of qualifying examination, a candidate for admission must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained not less than 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination.
In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Category I, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination is not less than 40%
A candidate seeking admission for this course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Duration: 3 Years + 6 Month Internship
Medical Imaging technology is related to the study of various techniques of capturing images (X-rays, ultrasounds and other medical equipment) of human body parts for medical as well as research purposes. This discipline plays a huge role in diagnosing different types of diseases and conditions. Interior organs/parts/tissues of human body are not visible to the naked eye. Doctors need medical imaging technology in order to obtain the visual representations of these organs, tissues and parts.
The graduates have great prospects to work in various health care, both public and private sectors as- Imaging Technologists, Application / Technical Specialist for imaging modalities in healthcare companies, and as teaching faculties in academic institutes.

Medical Laboratory Technology is an allied health specialty concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through the use of clinical laboratory tests. In this programme the students learn to perform diagnostic analysis on body fluids which include haematological, bacteriological, immunologic chemical and microscopic tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This programme also equips students with the knowledge and skills required to handle advanced lab equipment and perform accurate laboratory tests. The fact is that the practice of modern medicine would be impossible without the tests performed in the laboratory.
Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, public health facilities, and commercial laboratories all have position open right now for qualified laboratory professionals. Employment of clinical workers is expected to grow as the volume of laboratory tests increases with population growth and the development of new types of tests.

Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology is an important aspect of medical field which focuses on understanding anaesthesia, anaesthetic agents and anaesthesia equipment along with operation theatre technology, surgical procedures and instruments. Its aim is to educate students with techniques involved in anaesthesia administration, types of anaesthesia agents, operation theatre equipment’s, operation theatre procedures and also trains them to closely monitor the patients under anaesthesia influence both pre and post-surgery.
Embark on a journey to become a vital contributor to the surgical team with a strong demand for skilled operation anaesthesia professionals in operation theatre management, emergency care, dental care, anaesthesia technology and post-operation care in intensive care units and critical care units.
